A ‘Broken’ America…

As I recently reported, I hoped to start writing here more often. In fact, I had a story ready to post last Friday, but after the events involving the sniper attack on Dallas Police on Thursday, I decided to postpone it.

Of course then came the attack in Nice, France. the attempted coup in Turkey, and of course earlier today in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to reports today, there have been 26 police officers killed in the line of duty since the start of the year.

The two recent incidents in Dallas and Baton Rouge  are active investigations, and the intent here is not to second guess, nor interject opinions without all the facts.

What I do want to talk about is the failure by our Federal Government, in particular President Barack Obama and Attorney General Loretta Lynch, to act and respond appropriately  Both of them, along with Lynch’s predecessor, Eric Holder, have done nothing but fan the flames of this growing firestorm, and then respond by calling for more Gun Control. They have brought charges against cops in many of these cases, only to destroy the careers of the officers, yet their attempts to prosecute them fails because of the clear lack of evidence.

It is for this reason many career officers are considering turning in their badge, since they don’t know if they will be the next one in a jail cell or in a body bag. If we don’t have enough police officers, how are we going to protect life and property? Nationalizing the police force as some have proposed is not the answer. The TSA is a prime example of what happens when you nationalize a formerly local function. A bean counter or career bureaucrat will make the decisions instead of making the decisions based on the need of the moment.

Meanwhile, groups like the New Black Panthers, Occupy Wall Street (and its affiliates), and the Black Lives Matter movement all walk away without even a slap on the wrist, continuing to spread their hate and violent rhetoric unchecked.

It is long past time that this Administration return from the Golf Course, sit down with the top law enforcement officers, and address the public that there will be no further tolerance of violence towards those who serve and protect the citizens of the United States.

As I write this, we are 113 days away from selecting the next leader of the country. That new leader takes over in 187 days, just a mere 6 months from now. We have reached a point where our country is broken, we are heading towards a civil war that could destroy it.

Depending on the outcome of the election, our country might end up transformed from the American Dream that most of us wish for into an American nightmare.

If we are to prevent this civil war, the sooner they acknowledge the problem and take actions, the less blood will be spilled on both sides.

As the Omni Hotel in Dallas says in lights, and I say here. Enough is enough. Lets fix our Country before we destroy it.
