TSA picks the wrong person to harrass…

Rand Paul - Official Portrait

If I were a TSA agent, I would become very familiar with certain travelers coming through the checkpoint.  Obviously, this morning, they were not quite awake at the airport in Nashville, and the wrong person was “randomly” selected for a pat down screening. That person was Rand Paul, the Republican Senator from Kentucky.  As he passed through one of …

Obama Admin flushes Keystone XL Pipeline

Oil and gas pipeline

Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket… – Barack Obama, January 2008 The Obama administration today insured us that oil prices will also continue to skyrocket, by blocking the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to Texas. As is typical of this Administration, they passed the blame to someone else, as the …

Hi this is Rachel from Cardholder Services…

Phone Receiver

We’ve probably all got that call at some point over the last few years, telling us this is our final notice to lower our interest rates on our credit cards.  You promptly hit 2 to asking to be removed from the system, yet the calls keep coming. I got one such call this morning around 10am …

So Long 2011 – Welcome 2012

Champagne

As we pop the cork to celebrate the new year, it’s time to reflect back on the past year, and the year to come. 2011 started off with the Republicans taking control of the House of Representatives. Unfortunately, with Campaigner-in-Chief Obama’s political grandstanding, along with the Democrat controlled Senate, gridlock was the order of business …

Seventy years ago today, December 7, 1941, the United States Navy was attacked by Japanese planes in an unprovoked event in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The events of that day is still discussed in school history lessons to this day, and the loss of life has only been surpassed by the September 11, 2001 attacks on …

9/11: We will never forget…

World Trade Center Tribute in Lights - 9/11/2005

Ten years ago today, 19 extremists did the unthinkable, attack the United States of America.  On that fateful Tuesday in 2001, I recall coming into my office at 8am Central Time and seeing a bulletin on my e-mail: “Plane strikes World Trade Center”. My first thoughts were of people that I had a business relationship with at companies like Cantor Fitzgerald before …

Did someone at the TSA finally wake up?

As readers of this blog know, I have not been a fan of the TSA’s ever-expanding use of questionable technology and procedures to try to screen out threats to the United States’ Air Transportation System. As we know, the enhanced scanners and invasive pat-downs have resulted in more complaints than catching people wishing to do …

As expected…

The President and Congress has reached a reported deal to raise the debt limit, with some spending reductions over the next decade. Of course, they promise the cuts, and establishes yet another commission to produce a report (which they have to approve their recommended cuts) before a long-term debt limit increase will go into effect.
