Make Mine Freedom

In the late 1940’s, the United States was watching the developing threat of the Soviet Union, Communism, and ultimately, the Cold War.

It was no surprise, then, that the movie theaters of the day would run Pro-America/Pro-Capitalism “Propaganda” to remind citizens that our way of life is under attack.

Harding College stepped forward with one such film in 1948:

The facts of this film still hold true today. Capitalism and the free market system that has worked so well for America the last 236 years is once again under attack, although scholars will attest that the attack has been going on for over 100 years.

The Communist party, along with Socialists, Liberals and Progressives have taken leadership roles within our Government. These leaders were put into office not by voters, but by complacent media and large bankroll donors.

Of course, using the film’s concept, that would make these areas of concern communism, socialism, liberalism, and progressivism.  Any combination of those would spell certain demise to the way of life that we have had.

And just like in the film, the “Occupy” movement has put out a list of “demands” that – while some sound great, others are exactly what the film depicts.

Let us hope that the “occupier-in-chief” and much of the Communist/Liberal/Socialist/Progressives he brought to town with him given a one-way ticket out of D.C. in November.
